Dubbeldam team member Heather Breeze on panel at TMU ‘Women in Architecture’ Symposium

Intern Architect Heather Breeze has been invited to participate on a panel on Women in Architecture hosted by Toronto Metropolitan University’s Department of Architectural Science student union on March 5th. This event aims to shed light on the underrepresentation of women as registered architects in Canada, despite their significant enrollment in architecture programs across the country. Understanding the diverse career paths of female architecture graduates, including the factors influencing their pursuit of licensure versus other career paths, is crucial for fostering gender diversity and equity within the profession.

Heather will be joining an esteemed panel of women across the profession including Elsa Lam (Editor, Canadian Architect), Jennifer Esposito (Assistant Professor, TMU), Cathy Truong (Senior Product Designer at Autodesk), and Valerie Gow (Principal, Gow Hastings) to discuss barriers and supports in the industry, career paths and licensure, and the trajectories of female graduates.
